Gluten-free, Sugar-free and Dairy-free
The combination of peanut butter and dates is fantastic in these no bake protein balls giving you a sugar free snack that is naturally sweetened.
Not to mention that these have a nice boost of protein in them too. They are so soft and perfectly sweet and make a great snack all the while giving you a nice boost of energy when that afternoon slump hits!
Making them is a easy as A-B-C, especially when you have some of my DATE PASTE leftover in the fridge. I always make these specific protein snacks after I make a batch of my Super Simple Date Paste. For this recipe I wouldn’t recommend a substitute. The dates, with their high potassium content, combined with the protein makes a perfect energy ball. Plus the flavor and texture is just perfect.
What goes into the Peanut Butter Dates Chocolate Chip protein balls?
Just 5 wholesome ingredients. Since we use dates to sweeten it up, this recipe is naturally sugar-free- which is a WIN in my books! If you are not a big fan of protein powders, you can substitute the same amount of oat flour instead. I use a plant-based protein powder to keep these dairy-free.
- Date paste- you will need to make or have some of my date paste recipe handy
- Plant-based vanilla protein powder ( or sub same amount of oat flour)
- Natural Peanut butter
- Oat flour (I make my own by grinding oats in a blender)
- Lilly’s sugar free dark chocolate chips (you can use any you like, but if you choose another brand this recipe is no longer sugar-free, no biggie if you don’t mind!)
And by mixing the above ingredients together and rolling into balls, you are done. Refrigerator for a bit to allow them to come together better, then store in an airtight container for up to a month.
I hope you enjoy the perfect tasty snack!
